Fee: No single figure applies. If the marriage is after December 2023 — which covers anyone changing their name after a recent wedding — the certified copy comes from the county Probate Court at that court's fee, and DPH says expressly that "Fees charged by DPH for these services do not apply to copies obtained from the Office of the Probate Judge." For a marriage between July 1950 and December 2023, DPH charges a non-refundable search fee that includes one certified copy: $12 by mail (about 4 weeks) or $17 expedited (5 business days or less), plus $3 for each additional copy. In-person and drop-off service at the Columbia office has been listed as temporarily unavailable since 6/19/2025, leaving mail and VitalChek.
